I've been a born-again Christian for the last 24 years. Having had a lot of time to read and study the Bible, I have never found a Scripture verse where God says a man can beat his wife. Jesus spoke only about love. Even when a woman was caught in the act of adultery, the men brought her to Jesus to stone her... John 8:7-11 - "And as they continued to ask Jesus, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.”]] I serve such a loving God. When I read the Bible the words fill me with so much peace and I know that I am loved by the God of the universe. I pray that everyone finds their way to God.

There are versions of the system "Islamophobia" uses, and I don't know which came first. For Example, there is a true Islamophobia in the west, and this usage she describes dilutes the term. For example, Israel uses "Antisemitism" for everything that is just a criticism against the country's politics. I can have ideas of what I think of their politics, without thinking bad things about people who are Jews (whether religiously or by blood). Which dilutes the actual meaning of the word. Out-of-Europe immigrants have been using the term "racism" similarly to "Islamophobia". There exists structural and mental Racism connected to the typical "fear of others", but the term has been used to just stifle all criticism. Now Russia is doing this, pointing out Western Europe as being Russia-phobics.

I think you are a very sensible young man and you can choose your life. What islam do to men and women is hard to understand and how much it destroys people's thinking of each other. I wish everyone got that light bulb over their head coming to western countries. Good luck to you!

The people who demonise are not worth chasing. Their thinking is obviously not good. Dont expect anything good from such people. It is only those who love the truth who respond well to the truth. Most people now seem to despise what is true unless it is to their benefit. This is because most people have left the absolutes of God. And God is. But His name was never Allah. And His way of salvation was sacrificing Himself for our redemption. Ignoring God just leaves a sea of details, no absolutes. Like walking in shifting sea sand.

Q How does a person believe in the Koran and yet believe in human decency/freedoms? If the Koran espouses rape, sexual slavery, pedophilia, control, murder, etc are ceebrated in the book, as they are.

The Hasidic Jewish Community is also very strict in separating men and women. I was a pediatric nurse in that community. I now understand more fully why I was fired from an otherwise successful nursing assignment. I talked with the father about politics and I now realize that a boundary was crossed. The appearance of friendship, even an intellectual conversation, was taboo. We laughed together while talking. The next day I was gone. My work as a nurse was never in question.

Im not sure why you said that this has been building for 50 or 60 years. Muslims have wanted to take Israel and rape and use Israeli women as slaves even before Israel became a nation, as proven by Mohammeds words and actions. This is a spiritual problem as shared by the Prophets in Israel such as Isaiah, Zechariah, Joel, Obadiah, Micah, Nahum, and Zephaniah. Its important that God says that He expects His people to repent and be pure, righteous, of love. I too thought if i was good then i would be blessed with a good husband.....that did not happen. So in turn i thought i was a horrible person because i was getting abused by my ex husband. So i would be in this horrible cycle of constantly making tawba(repenting)thinking if allah will forgive me for being me then allah will make my husband treat me better.
